Banana-Apple Bread

Yield 1 Loaf


  • 1 2/3 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 Teaspoon baking powder
  • 2/3 Cup white sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 3 Very ripe bananas
  • 2 Small apples


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine first 9 ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Mash bananas.
  4. Peel and shred apples.
  5. Mix prepared fruits with other ingredients.
  6. Grease and flour loaf pan.
  7. Pour batter into the loaf pan and back for 1 hour or until a toothpick comes clean from the center of the bread.
  8. Allow to cool.
  9. Enjoy!


Apples can be omitted or substituted by pears, shredded coconut, or other fruit of choice. Walnuts may also be added, if you desire. Artificial sweetener can be substituted for sugar. Check package for substitution amount. Bread can be baked in a loaf, mini load, or muffin pans. Adjust cooking time accordingly.
